Grady in the media

Due to the terrible tornado outbreak and the coincidental timing of one of my research papers being published this month, I have been bombarded by folks wanting interviews. Here are some of the highlights:

...along with several hate-filled blogs and websites run by climate change extremists (on both ends of the spectrum).

Erica! in February!

Because I have a really slow laptop at home, and I'm not that good at Flickr, I am just now posting my friend Erica's pictures from her visit in February, when she escaped the wintry mix of Chicago for Mississippi. There was snow on the ground when she got here, followed by some sunny days of upper 60's - if I remember correctly. Brooks was NOT sleeping through the night at that time, so many things are fuzzy - not to be confused with Erica's cute hubby Fuzzy.

We had the perfect lunch at Little Dooey BBQ, a Starkville original. Pictured here: pulled pork, BBQ sausage, fried pickles, potato salad, and some buttery bread. MM-MMM!!

Saturday morning, Grady kept both kids so we could get pedicures and go shopping!

Sunday, we bundled up the kiddos for a picnic at the wildlife refuge.

Brooks Bear, ready to go!

It was a beautiful day to be out and about.

One of the first pictures of Brooks smiling!

Gettin' tickled...

I will do some silly stuff for this little man's giggles!

The fam at the observation deck, where on warmer days, we've seen alligators float by! Thanks for the pics Erica!

Random Precious Things from My Phone

Itty bitty Brooks when I had to go into work during those first few weeks to cut checks.

Two tired dudes.

Bundled up for a very cold day!

Christmas morning? Nope, that's Delia's haul from her school Valentine's Day party.

Delia has started a 3 and 4-year-old ballet and tap class. She loves being a ballerina!

Brooks with the preacher's granddaughter Emma. They were born barely a week apart.

One of the many birthday parties we've been to in the past few weeks. This one was Delia's friend Will!

My Baby Can Read...and giggle

If you have ever seen those stupid infomercials for the "Your Baby Can Read" program, then you know the reference above. Delia can now "read" an entire book. Actually, she has memorized the book like most kids do, but she did memorize some pretty difficult animal names.

Ok, she may struggle with a couple, but skunks do stunk.

Brooks may learn to read one day, but he is a boy and he currently loves toilet humor. Melissa was convinced that he loved for her to zrbtt his belly because he would laugh so much. Turns out that he just likes the fart sounds.

"Why doesn't anybody laugh when I make those sounds?"

Brooks' First Baseball Game

Little man is 16 weeks old, smiling, laughing, cooing, and enjoying MSU baseball.

Dudy Noble Field is famous for its Left Field Lounge, which is full of homemade grandstands made out of old pick up trucks, plywood, old bus seats, and the like. We were invited to our friends' (the Henrys) family's spot Friday afternoon for burgers and baseball.

Too much fun! Delia and Amelia chowing down on hot dogs.

Delia loves ALL MSU sports.

Look who we found in the stands! "Aunt Peggy" and "Uncle Mac" from Vicksburg!

Little Lamb

What is sweeter than this?

Nothing.

Things Delia Says

Delia: "Look! The Poo P S man!" (Well, he does drive a big brown truck.)

Mama: "Thank you Delia! You're a good helper!"
D: "And you're a good mama!"

Delia, after singing a song: "I songed it all the way through!"

Mama: "Delia, I am having a party at our house tonight."
D: "Are you going to be 3?"

Daddy: "Do you want to wear your brown shoes today?"
D: "Daddy. I ALWAYS like pink best."
