Mommy Group

Last Saturday (Valentine's Day) Delia and I went to our Mom's group to hang out w/other babies and baby mamas, eat bagels, and drink mimosas. This was our friends the Stapletons' last meeting, as they are moving to Eugene, Oregon next week. We will miss them!

This is our attempt at a group picture! What a crew!

Delia is very surprised that someone would try to intrude on her keyboard jams.

Babies babies everywhere!

Delia is so ready to walk! She loves to hold your hands and walk. She is also pretty good at walker toys, but sometimes her feet can't keep up with the toy, it keeps rolling, and she ends up flat on her belly.

Carmen made it by 9:30a.m., right off the night shift as a nurse in Labor and Delivery. Now that's a supermom!

Happy Valentines Day!

Delia loves that camera!!

As always, thanks to Cousins Emily, Regan, and Aubrey for the great outfits that they keep sending Delia!

Thursday night, we had a Blufish Design Valentine cookie decorating night at our house. I learned some sugar cookie tricks when I worked at a restaurant/bakery (long long ago and far far away) and I shared them with Darcy and Ellen, one of our student interns.

Ellen adds flair to her pink cookies.

Darcy perfects her technique.

Our masterpieces!

We delivered these to some local clients on Friday. You would be surprised how happy a little butter and sugar can make people.

Video Compilation

We have been slacking when it comes to posting videos of Delia over the past couple months, so we are attempting to make up for that in a single post.

Delia has a new favorite word. Can you figure out what it is?

This is from back in December, but it is a pretty typical night in the Dixon household...a competition for attention between Miller, Buddy, and Delia.

This is from Delia's first birthday (January 17). As you can see, she was quite "flirty" that day.

Finally, since she showed some of her dance moves in the previous video, I thought that I would assure everyone that Delia's favorite band is still My Morning Jacket.

Fun Weekend Playing Outside

This weekend we had great weather - up to 71 degrees! - and were finally able to play outside a little bit. After we went to the MSU basketball game on Saturday, Delia's friend Amelia (and her parents John and Carmen) came over and we all sat around a bonfire in the back yard. The girls were really excited when we told them what we were doing.

"Let's go!"

On Sunday, we took a short walk to the edge of our back yard, which backs up to a cow pasture. The cows drive Buddy crazy, and he is quick to squeeze under the fence and torment them. Today it was no surprise when he ran out barking and tried to wrangle them up.

Here is a close up of Buddy getting too close and having to scoot out of the way when a cow had enough of him.

Grady tells Delia what sound a cow makes.

"Back off crazy white devil dog!"

Then we walked 2 houses down where our neighbor lets the dogs swim in his pond. Miller showed off his retrieving skills. He loves to swim and fetch the duck decoys and will do it until he just about collapses.

A flying leap into the water - the only way Miller knows how to do it!

Miller caught mid-shake.

Slow-mo shake!

Buddy likes to swim and retrieve too, but mostly he waits until Miller is almost done, then tries to claim the bumper for himself.

Delia loves these squishy blocks she got for Christmas. She holds them all the way to day care in the mornings just like this. No knocking them together, just holding them still like this.

She holds them on the way home too.

Not Excited

This picture cracks me up. I posted it with no explanation, but I had to go back and add some details. When I picked Delia up from day care, her hair was standing straight up. I asked the afternoon girls what could have made it stick up like that and they said, "Baked beans?" The bib is a precious Christmas bib that I bought and then forgot to use at Christmas. The purple bottle is my attempt to substitute the sippy cup for the bottle. Delia likes her sippy cups, but has not yet warmed up to the hard tops. Luckily the tops and nipples are all interchangeable. You wouldn't know it from this picture, but Delia is favoring finger food much more than baby food these days. However, the food on her face is prunes, because she needs a little more regularity in her life.
