Happy Halloween!

A few weeks ago, our church had a Harvest Festival out at the church's lake property and we got to try out our costumes. Delia borrowed a great Sleeping Beauty costume, with new crown courtesy of Grandma 'Manda. I took a few pictures before we left the house and that was all I could get. Again, camera too heavy. Squatting down to eye level with munchkins and then getting back up again - too hard. But... thanks to my friend Carmen sharing all of her pictures, I have plenty to share!

Natural born princess!

Happy princess with a mouth full of hot dog!

Happy Baby Charlotte and mom

This past Friday night, we went Downtown for Pumpkinpalooza! Trick or Treating on Main Street, pumpkin patch, farmers market, etc. I wanted to buy mums and pumpkins and pumpkin bread, but all those things were too heavy to carry. Especially since I'd started having contractions the night before. (They stopped.)

There were some great decorations...

and live mannequins, which totally freaked Delia out the first time we made one of them giggle.

We saw tons of friends in costume, but only snagged this one picture of Joseph. Go Dawgs! 7 WINS!

Did not get any pictures of actual trick or treating on Halloween because Delia wore the same outfit... and the camera was too heavy. We had fun though!

Stomp

More from Delia:

To Mama while Delia was sitting on the potty with a little stuffed toy:
"We are smaller. You are biiiiiiig. Like an elephant. That goes STOMP.

Random Delia

More quotes from Delia...

When we see and hear a motorcycle on the road: "That motorcycle's loud."
When we get her tricycle out of the garage: "My motorcycle's quiet."

To her good baby dolls: "It's OK, sweetheart."
To those who misbehave: "Do you hear me??"

What made Delia get serious about going poopoo in the potty? POPSICLES.

What makes food more fun? Put it on a toothpick!

Blufish recently helped our local hospital and fire departments publicize an event to welcome a fleet of pink fire trucks that tour the country "driving" cancer awareness. They made only one stop in Mississippi, and that was Starkville. Read more about them on their site: http://www.pinkfiretrucks.org/

There were lots of goodies, like pink fireman helmets, pink balloons, and face painting.

Timid princess, no-climbing Delia went up the bouncy slide by herself!

The phone camera can only capture so much, but here she comes!

Still hanging on to that balloon at supper!

Blufish Design 5th Anniversary

We celebrated Blufish's 5th Anniversary with an Open House in September. Even the boss from our Phoenix office came and took advantage of a big SEC football weekend: MSU v. Georgia. I didn't get too many pictures... after a full day of party prepping, the camera was too heavy.

There were a lot of preggos there!! L to R: Jennifer (works right down the street), Tanika (works for BF and had her baby 1 month early on Oct. 1), Casey (Grady's cousin), and yours truly.

Bumper to Bumper

Some of my student interns - they are all great! Sara, Jennifer, and Mark. Mark just had a "Fro-ing Away Party" and cut all that hair off.

Delia never lets me do her hair in pigtails anymore. Last month she did and I was so excited, we ran outside and took pictures.

Here is Delia in a big girl hooded towel handmade by our friend Christy! No more baby towels that only cover her to her knees.

Things Delia says that crack us up:

"I don't like birds because I'm scary."

When Grady told her that her toy cat looked more like an armadillo:
"It's NOT an army gorilla!!"

When we put on shorts for the first time in a week:
"Uh oh! I don't have some pants on!"

When Grady kisses her:
"Don't get beard on me!"

In the shoe store with Grandma Amanda after the salesman said "Huh?"
"Grandma 'Manda, we don't say 'huh'. Bad people say 'huh'."

When asked "Where did you get your face painted?"
"Trick or treatering."

When a grandma at day care said how much her granddaughter Chloe (Delia's classmate) looooves Delia:
"Chloe hit me with the telephone!"

Singing to herself in her bed:
"Old McDonald had a farm, EIEIO. And on that farm he had a giraffe, EIEIO. With a quiet here and a quiet there..."
"Old McDonald had a farm, EIEIO. And on that farm he had a Elmo, EIEIO. With a ... ... ... happy here and a happy there...."

Pumpkin Patch

This Saturday, we caravaned with some friends to a pumpkin patch in Caledonia, about 40 minutes away. It was unseasonably hot this weekend, so we didn't stay very long. A hayride in full sun when it is 90 degrees is not as fun as if it were, say, 60 degrees, so we skipped that.

We did have fun picking out pumpkins, squash, and gourds of all shapes and sizes.

Delia's plan was to get "a Mama pumpkin, a Daddy pumpkin, and a baby pumpkin. And one for Baby Brooks." She started out with this one, which was just her size.

You can tell how long we have been without rain by the brown crunchy grass!

Delia's friend Landon!

Another friend, William, a.k.a. The Hulk.

This wagon proved to be too heavy, and soon Delia joined this big daddy pumpkin in the wagon.

There was a cotton patch too! Delia patted this little cotton boll like it was a bunny.

Check it out!

Look out! More cotton - and lots of it - with no one else around!

It's just like jumping on the bed!

Wheee!

As much fun as those inflatable jumpers - but all natural!

Just like a sandbox, but it's CORN!

Delia was having fun until a bunch of boys started running and yelling and dumping corn on each other. Then she got nervous and was ready to go.

"P" is for Posing Princess

(Delia has been learning her letters at school, and recognizes many of them while we are driving down the road. She will call out "D for Delia!" or "M for Mama!")

Oh my goodness. I did not pose this child. I simply said "Sit on this step and let Mama take your picture." And this is what I got.

These pictures were taken after she woke up from her Sunday afternoon nap, still in her church clothes, and went outside to enjoy the fantastic fall weather we are having.

In Daddy's lawnmower wagon.

I have a picture just like this of me when I was little and blonde.

In other news, I am so pregnant that I cannot carry on normal conversation without getting out of breath. That is hilarious when I am trying to speak to the Ad Design 1 class that I am teaching at MSU this semester. And Grady has a stomach bug. Please say a prayer that we do not all get it!
