Brooks was baptized at First Presbyterian Church, Starkville on May 15, 2011 by Rev. Olin McBride. He was 6 months old.

Brooks, eating the collar of his baptism outfit. I borrowed knee socks, but they were too big. I borrowed little white sandals, but he kicked them off. I bought a short-sleeved outfit and it was the coldest day ever in May. As Delia says, "Mama, it'll be alright."

Grandma Amanda made the trip from Vicksburg for Brooks' special day,

Delia loves to get dressed up. And dance. The other night we were at the dinner table and Ray Charles' "I Got a Woman" came on the stereo. We were all bobbing and grooving to the music and Delia said "My booty's moving."
"That bird is crazy."
Delia loved this rain forest jumper and Brooks does too.
One day Brooks was playing on his caterpillar play mat and I noticed I wasn't hearing the toys rattling anymore. He had fallen asleep!
I am incapable of deleting any photos of my children. So here are some random ones of Brooks in his jammies that I like.
Brooks has his mouth wide open most of the time. This is how he gives kisses and how he waits for baby food.

We have been to many birthday parties this year, but this one in May was extra special. Diwas (DEE-bus) is the sweet boy that our friends Mike and Karyn adopted from Nepal. As I've said before, I take a lot fewer pictures at events with 2 kids in tow, so thanks to Kelli A. who took the time to shoot photos of the whole party, THEN sent us our own pictures!
Brooks is about 5 1/2 months old here. Very close to when his first tooth popped out.
There were lots of fun activities, like a inflatable bouncy house, slip and slide, and lots of good food, like PINK CUPCAKES (Delia's favorite).
Delia was not brave enough to go tearing down the slip and slide with the other kids, but at least she put on her bathing suit. Diwas ended up slipping and sliding buck naked. Now that's a party!
