September!

Just chillin' at 10 months old.

Brooks loves this little car just as much as Delia did, and we ran up and down the driveway in September enjoying the cooler weather.

Big sister loves to help with Brooks whenever she can.

And I think I mentioned it before, but she also loves to ham it up for the camera.

Sweet sister.

Delia has been practicing her tricycle riding so that she can get a "princess bike and princess helmet" (safety first) from Santa.

"Mom, please can I take the car out? I'll be home early..."

"I don't care what you say. I'm taking it. Don't wait up."

Hanging with Dad.

Must have been a "touchdown!"

We made a quick trip to Vicksburg for Nana's birthday in September. Brooks has his surprised look on, which our friend Bryan has brought to our attention: "Brooks always looks surprised!"

Rock and Roll

We (just Grady and Melissa) saw 3 shows this summer, with 2 in 2 nights! In July we saw Steve Earle and Allison Moorer at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, which was fantastic. They sold little buckets of drinks, fancy plates of cheese, and everyone sat in the grass in their short lawn chairs. It was a crazy cool night making for an awesome experience.

In August, we followed My Morning Jacket and Neko Case for 2 nights. The first show was in Tuscaloosa, only an hour and 15 min. from us.

wall o mugs at 5 Seasons

In Atlanta, we found a restaurant called 5 Seasons that was really cool. Most everything on the menu was fresh and local, and they brewed their own beer.

Big fat frog legs over grilled okra. YUM.

I asked the waitress for another little boat of honey so I could finish off the homemade bread on this amazing bread and cheese sampler. No regrets.

ATL show. Good times!

August: The Beach!

We've rented a house in Fort Morgan, AL the past 5 years. This was the first year with 2 kids!

Here's Delia while we waited on the Dauphin Island ferry. Hamming it up!

Brooks looking out the car window at the water while we rode the ferry.

Brooks' first trip to the beach!

Delia is so fair skinned, it is a full time job keeping her from getting sunburned. The shirt bathing suits are great, and she brought her cowgirl hat.

This girl does crazy things when the camera turns her way.

Here's the view of our neighborhood from the beach.

This is the view from our balcony. It was just a short walk to the beach each day.

Brooks loved the toys, the sand, everything.

Baby boy had a good time whether he was on or off the beach.

Same for Mr. Bryan (in the background)

Our friends Bryan and Christine brought their baby girl Blaine and the babies were great playmates. One rainy day we just played inside with some mixing bowls!

Happy boy right before we noticed that his swim diaper had leaked poop on this blue leather couch. Oops.

Delia is 3 and 1/2 here. Precious.

Taken from our balcony with my new phone. Not bad!

Blaine turned one while we were there and we had a mini photo shoot on her big day!

Got some good ones of our kiddos too!

We went out to eat at Tacky Jack's for birthday dinner!

"Blaine, isn't this fun??"
