November Part 4: So much stuff!

Oh man - just found tons of pics on my phone from November! Here's more of our crazy November! And one serene sunset.

Delia had her school Thanksgiving program, complete with songs and outfits they made. This is her friend's Reese's class. Too cute!

Daddy couldn't make it, so we invited our friends Carmen, Amelia, and Charlotte to attend.

Even Brooks got to "skip school" and see sister do her thing.

Our little Native American princess!
Best friends!

Grady and I got to go out one Friday night to Bulldog Bash, the largest free concert in the state. This year it was the Avett Brothers and they drew a CROWD. We have no urge to fight crowds anywhere for anything, so normally we'd skip something like this, especially when we have to pay a babysitter. However, Blufish Design is an in-kind sponsor of Bulldog Bash. We trade out the design work for the poster, shirts, stage banners, etc. for a sweet sponsor package, and the Bash uses us for all the printing. So we watched the show from the VIP tent. Free food, free drinks, good view, and no one else shoved up in your personal space.

VIP is where it's AT!

Speaking of VIP, our friends the Banzhafs invited us to their skybox for the MSU v Bama game. It's the Davis Wade box at Davis Wade stadium. Not too shabby. So Jennifer and I took the kids, sent Grady and his friends out in the rain and never looked back. Hello chicken tenders and ice cream at half time.

And who did we bump into on the elevator ride after the game? None other than Jackie Sherrill!

I helped coordinate a Christmas parade float for Main Street, complete with gingerbread house. Got to work with some really fun ladies!

On parade night, we had freezing rain, so we watched from Mugshots' balcony with the Murdock family.

Must sign off now, as 8 yr old laptop is very hot and making noises like a jet plane.

November Part 3: Brook's First Birthday!

I went to a friend's son's first birthday a few weeks ago and it was over the top. It looked like the mom had prepared for 2 weeks. Everything was coordinated and adorable. There was a theme and everything fit into the theme, down to the tags on the take-away snacks. There were pictures of the birthday boy each month from birth to 12 months. Brooks' party was not like that, because November was a crazy time. I was getting the office ready for our 2 week trip out of the country (during our biggest work project of the year), we went to 2 Thanksgivings in 2 weekends - again, it was a crazy time. Brooks' first birthday was a small family gathering with his sweet sister, grandparents, cousins, a chocolate cake, snacks, and presents. Just perfect for us. By the way, I didn't make that cake.

One of Brooks' favorite presents was a drum. No lights, no sound effects, no batteries, just a drum to beat on because he LOVES to beat on stuff.

Look at that talent! He's already got trick moves!

Sister helped sing Happy Birthday, then helped blow out the candle.

It was a fun day! Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

November Part 2: Early Thanksgiving in Vicksburg

We met Gerald and Sarah at Nana and Papa's house in Vicksburg for an early Thanksgiving and Brooks' first birthday! I love this picture. I foresee Brooks ruining many a Delia pose.

2 silly bald men

Delia is playing with one of my old My Little Ponies - one of the few toys of mine that Mama couldn't part with. Delia loves them!

Aunt Jennifer and Wesley stopped by for a quick visit. All those beautiful curls!

Cousins!

Brooks opened a few presents early - we couldn't stand it!

Delia helped with this super fun ball popper.

"Just lemme rip this bag up!"

After a tasty experiment last Thanksgiving, Papa grilled the turkey again this year. It was great! No more vats of hot oil!

Green bean bundles. MMM.

One pup shy of a Buford family photo. Where's Sophie? Wait - is that Sophie? Sebastian?
Next post: Party time!

November Part 1

Well, I didn't figure out how to blog from my phone while we were on our big trip in December, so I'll just keep posting our pictures in order. Here's what we did in November!

Took the kiddos to an afternoon tailgate!

The effects of too much fun.

Posing in their MSU wear.

I think Brooks was clapping. He claps for EVERYTHING. It must be all the positive reinforcement we give him.

In November we also held an Open House for Blufish Design's new digs! In August we moved to the Lofts at Central Station. This historic building was originally a Borden milk plant and has been renovated by Tabor Development (their office is here too and yes, we did their website) to house a restaurant, condos, and office suites. We LOVE the new location.

These were some cookies that Tabor had ordered for the party. Impressive!

Brooks had a good time banging on the glass wall and putting sloppy kisses on it. Major perk of the new space: I have a separate office where I can shut my door and meet with clients. Imagine that!

Greater Starkville Development Partnership staff (and friends) in the conference room. Another perk: we now have a conference room with a flat screen where we can make presentations. Cool!

My buddy Steve Langston, who is a fellow warrior for Downtown Starkville.

Mama and Daddy came up to Starkville (on a school night!) to come to the party. Blufish logo mural by the talented Dylan Karges.

The Blufish team: Kathleen See (PR/admin assistant), me, Callender Hughes (print designer), and Tim Myers (web master). No doubt about it, the best team we've ever had. More November pics later. My laptop just had it's 8th birthday and it's soooooo sloooooow. Maybe Blufish will buy me a new one so I can blog - I mean - work from home.
