Amelia's Birthday Party

Still playing catch up on pictures! These are from Amelia's 2nd birthday party on April 15. It was a jungle themed party, complete with homemade cupcakes, inflatable animals, an animal-themed soundtrack, Play Doh, a sand table, animal party favors, AND GAMES!

Here is Carmen, the 8-month pregnant momma/Wonder Woman who pulled it off. Unbelievable! Her camera got thrown in a pool, so I was the official party photographer.

The birthday girl!

Landon tries out the sand table. We gotta get one of those!

"Hey everybody! This is a bear!"

Play Doh time...

I love the fact that the juice boxes and the beers are in the same tub.

How old is Amelia?

The youngest one there, Baby Oliver with dad Craig!

Just one of the super fun presents Amelia received.

I love this pictures because Amanda and Delia are posing and they don't even know it, and John is actually tuning the pink guitar. He has since broken 2 strings on it.

Amelia as a lion,

Landon as a bear,

and Delia as a zebra.

The first game was throwing peanuts in a tub to "feed the elephant." The kids loved it and threw TONS of peanuts in that tub.

The second game was to knock down the inflatable monkey with a banana.

It did not go well for the monkey. Or for any of the rest of us who were on the receiving end of William's wicked throwing arm.

Then it was time for cupcakes and ice cream!

Then Carmen took the camera away from me to prove that I do exist. The next morning I flew out to meet Grady in D.C.! What?? Stay tuned for more catching up...

Storm Chasing

I am a storm chase widow/single mom for the month of May, and Grady's first "high risk" day is today. If you would like to track their chase vehicle, click the link below. To see the storms on the radar, click "Nexrad" in the upper right hand corner of the map. Or, just cover your eyes.

Monkeys in Cubbies

One of Delia's teachers sent me this picture. She said all the kids just sat in their cubbies talking to each other for half an hour yesterday! From left to right: Abby, Ella, Delia, Jacob, Morgan, Jenna, McCoy, Silas, Chloe, and Ethan.

More Easter

Still catching up on pictures! These are from Easter Sunday. Grady hid eggs all over our front yard for Delia. She would squeal whenever she saw one! A lot less competition than the church hunt. No candy in our eggs, though. The thrill of the hunt was enough for Delia!

She wasn't wild about going through the mud to get some of the eggs though. As soon as she had to step off the concrete driveway, she pointed to an egg under a tree and told Grady "YOU get it."

Princess tiptoes around the mud.

Nana helps count.

Easter hat! You can fill up a really good Easter basket at Dollar Tree. I even found egg shaped sidewalk chalk.

Swinging with our eggs!

Hold on!!

Fun time's over. I think we were playing our "see if you can keep a straight face" game. Hopefully soon I'll be caught up with posting pictures so that I can actually remember what was going on at the time.

First Easter Egg Hunt

Our church had an Easter Egg Hunt the Friday before Easter at the church's lake property. This was not Delia's first Easter, but it was the first time she understood what was going on at a real Easter egg hunt. She could carry her own basket and everything!

We had practiced hunting eggs at home, but Delia didn't understand the urgency of a hunt with other kids. She mostly just watched, which resulted in her getting the prize for "Least Number of Eggs." She didn't mind - she had a great time with Amelia.

There were a lot of kids there! This was the "3 and Under" area of the hunt.

2 sweet girls!
