January 2012, Delia's 4th Birthday

Delia's birthday weekend just happened to coincide with the release of Beauty & the Beast in 3D, so we invited her whole class and some other good friends for a party at the theater.

The birthday girl - all decked out!

The cake was from a mix, but I was proud of my homemade cream cheese icing. And I made Belle entirely out of icing.
Just kidding. She's a bank.

We had 2 tables packed with kids in a pretty small party room. The moms had to hang out in the hallway til movie time!

I asked Delia to sit with her friends for a picture and she just looked at me. So I said, "OK, we'll take it without you." She squalled. When you're little, tears are just a part of every day life. We usually recover quickly. It's her party! She can cry if she wants to!

Blowing out her candle.

Ice cream! Clockwise, Amelia, Reese, Maddie, Delia, and Landon.

Delia's all time favorite teacher, Miss Chan, stopped by to say hello. She is a sweet lady who loves Delia very much!

Christmas 2011

Here's what we did in December 2011 - after New Zealand. The first morning we were back in Starkville, Delia's class went to Disney on Ice in Tupelo. She looooved it.

Mulan and her dragon,

Delia and her friend Reese,

Mickey and Minnie were there,
along with all the princesses, the Genie from Aladdin, the Toys from Toy Story... it was really cute.

Brooks got hungry on the way back from Vicksburg. I know the grandmas fed you!

A local photographer used Delia in her Christmas campaign!

Brooks learned how to get messy with his food.

We spent Christmas morning in Vicksburg at Nana and Papa's!

Brooks didn't really understand what was going on, but had a great time playing with both toys and boxes.

We finally had to wake Delia up on Christmas morning!

Santa brought Delia a princess bike, princess watch, and some new princesses!

First time trying out her first bike!

Sharp dressed man.

Sweet siblings.

We had a great Blufish Christmas dinner at Anthony's with our great team: Kathleen, Tim, and Callender.

One of my favorite gifts, hot pads, from Erica!

Dropped off the face of the blog

Where have we been? I blame the old laptop. Those last posts were taking me about an hour each. Who has time for that? Add a few hundred New Zealand photos into the mix, and then the blog is a daunting task. Add training for my first 5K, and that blogging hour was spent running. But this weekend, I got an iPad, so look out blog, here I come! For now, New Zealand will have to wait. Maybe I'll sprinkle in some trip details here and there, but for now, I've got to get back to my babies!

Auckland

Grady's International Congress of Biometeorology conference was held in Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand. We arrived in Auckland around 2am. Grady had conference stuff to do all that day, so I just bummed around the city by myself all day - boo hoo!

Breakfast by myself? Order whatever I want? Wah! In NZ, a coffee with milk is called a "flat white," and it is so yummy. A few times I accidentally ordered a "fat white." Oops.

Our hotel, the Quadrant, was near some very pretty city parks with some huge trees. It was also near this crazy ivy-covered building, as well as the Queen Street shopping district, where I spent a good part of the day.

We went to a brewery called "The Brewery" where we tried our first fish and chips. Good! The garlic aioli made it really special, hence the mesmerized look in Grady's eyes.
